Methodology guide -- CN 7229 (alloy steel wire)

Alloy wire is downstream of alloy wire rod. India is a notable source (~22kt/yr). Methodology mirrors CN 7217 with the alloy-steel emissions profile: ~5-10% above plain carbon steel.

Step 1 -- request the full chain verification. Drawing-only data is insufficient; upstream alloy-rod emissions must be passed through per Reg. 2025/2621 Article 7.

Step 2 -- handle alloy-specific grades. Alloy wire applications (spring wire, music wire, structural strand) demand specific grades. Grade-specific emissions are worth requesting for cost-engineering accuracy.
